Privacy policy
This policy explains how EggDocket handles information. EggDocket is designed as a local-first backyard egg and flock journal and does not require an account.
Information you enter
Hen cards, egg counts, optional per-hen attribution, feed and cost notes, non-clinical events, reminder schedules and preferences are stored on your device. EggDocket does not operate a developer cloud database for these records.
EggDocket does not request camera, photo/media-library, contacts, calendar, precise or coarse location, health, Bluetooth or broad external-storage permission.
Exports and restore
You can initiate CSV, readable text and JSON exports. A copy leaves EggDocket only when you choose a destination through your device. That destination may handle its copy under its own privacy terms. JSON restore validates EggDocket backup structure and asks for confirmation before replacing local records.
Advertising and consent
EggDocket uses Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform. Google Mobile Ads starts and ad requests are made only after Google's consent service confirms that ads may be requested. If consent information is unavailable, EggDocket does not request ads. Every EggDocket ad request is marked non-personalized. Depending on device, region, choices and Google's current services, Google may still process an IP address and approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, ads viewed, app or ad interactions, crash information and performance information for advertising, measurement, analytics, security and fraud prevention.
On iOS, EggDocket asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before updating Google's consent status and before Google Mobile Ads starts. EggDocket then presents any required Google consent form. If Google's status or form service does not respond, ads remain disabled for that app session. Google Mobile Ads starts only when the consent service confirms that ads may be requested. If Apple permission is granted, a device advertising identifier may be used for advertising measurement and frequency controls, which Apple classifies as tracking. If permission is denied, Google Mobile Ads does not send the IDFA and EggDocket remains fully usable. EggDocket never uses flock records, egg counts, notes or exported content for advertising.
EggDocket disables Google's publisher first-party identifier setting on both platforms. Read Google's privacy policy and Mobile Ads SDK disclosure guidance.
App update delivery
EggDocket may use Expo application update services. Update requests may process technical information such as operating system, developer project identifier, a random installation token and update diagnostics for app functionality and update delivery. See Expo's privacy policy.
Notifications
Reminders are optional and scheduled locally on the device. EggDocket does not register a remote push-notification token.
Deleting information
Delete individual records inside EggDocket, use the in-app erase action, clear the app's device data or uninstall the app to remove local records. Copies you exported must be deleted from their chosen destinations separately.
Product boundary
EggDocket is a personal record book, not veterinary, animal-health, biosecurity, breeding, financial or commercial-farm advice. It does not diagnose illness, recommend treatment, identify a bird or guarantee laying performance.
Changes
This policy may change when the app or its service providers change. The effective date will be revised when a material update is published.
