Privacy policy
This policy explains how CatchFolio handles information. CatchFolio is designed as a local-first fishing record and does not require an account.
Information you enter
Trips, zero-catch outcomes, catches, custom species, size, kept or released state, bait or lure, technique, private spot labels, manually entered coordinates, tackle, maintenance dates, notes, preferences and local reminder schedules are stored on your device. CatchFolio does not operate a developer cloud database for these records.
CatchFolio does not request camera, photo/media library, precise location or coarse location permission. Coordinates, if you choose to save them, are typed by you. Spots are not published or shared automatically.
You may optionally select an image file for a catch through your device's document picker. CatchFolio copies the selected file into app-private storage on your device. It does not upload that image to the developer or automatically publish it.
Exports and restore
You can initiate CSV, readable text and JSON exports. An export leaves CatchFolio only when you choose a destination through your device. The selected destination may handle that copy under its own privacy terms. Image attachment files are deliberately excluded from CSV, text and JSON exports. Restore validates CatchFolio backup structure before changing the local record set and does not recreate excluded attachment files.
Advertising and consent
CatchFolio uses Google Mobile Ads and Google User Messaging Platform. Where required, the consent flow is completed before an ad request. Depending on your device, region, choices and Google's current services, Google may process an IP address and approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, ads viewed, app or ad interactions, crash information and performance information for advertising, measurement, analytics, security and fraud prevention.
CatchFolio disables Google's publisher first-party identifier setting in the app. For more information, read Google's privacy policy and Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure guidance.
App update delivery
CatchFolio may use Expo application update services to deliver compatible app updates. Update requests may process technical information such as operating system, the developer project identifier, a random installation token and update diagnostics for app functionality and update delivery. Notifications
Reminders are optional and scheduled locally on the device. CatchFolio does not register a remote push-notification token.
Deleting your information
Delete individual records inside CatchFolio, use the in-app erase action, clear the app's device data, or uninstall the app to remove local records. The in-app erase action also removes CatchFolio's private attachment directory. Copies you exported must be deleted from their chosen destinations separately.
Security and scope
No storage method is risk-free. Keep your device protected and treat private spot coordinates as sensitive. CatchFolio does not provide navigation, public spots, legal rules, species identification, forecasts or safety advice.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the app or its service providers change. The effective date above will be revised when a material update is published.
