Summary
BoxBeacon is a manual moving-box log. It does not require an account or send your box inventory to a developer server. Labels, destination rooms, contents and unpacking priorities are stored on your device.
Your records and exports
The app stores your list locally. When you choose Export CSV in Plan, it creates a CSV file and opens your device's sharing controls. Information leaves the app only through the destination you choose. That destination may have its own privacy rules. Do not include sensitive information you do not want to share.
Advertising and consent
BoxBeacon uses Google Mobile Ads and Google's User Messaging Platform. On iOS, App Tracking Transparency permission is checked before the network-dependent consent flow or advertising initialization. Denied, restricted, unresolved or failed permission checks keep advertising off. On both platforms, the app refreshes Google's consent information before requesting ads and stays off when consent cannot be verified. Requests are configured as non-personalised.
Google may process IP-derived approximate location, device identifiers, app and advertising interactions, crash information and other diagnostic or performance data for advertising, analytics, security and fraud prevention, depending on consent and device settings. The app does not send your box labels, rooms or contents to the advertising service. Google processes information under Google's Privacy Policy.
Plan includes a link to this policy and Advertising privacy choices, which opens Google's privacy-options form when required. You can also manage tracking permission in device Settings. A labelled banner appears only outside protected tasks. App-open ads are suppressed for the first three sessions, limited to once per 24 hours, and excluded from editing, search, removal and export flows. Watching a rewarded ad is optional and changes only a card colour temporarily. No core feature depends on an ad, consent, purchase or subscription.
Permissions and features
BoxBeacon does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, physical location or notifications. The pin in its branding represents your manually entered destination room, not GPS tracking. CSV sharing is user initiated. There is no cloud sync or in-app restore feature.
Retention and deletion
Records remain in local app storage until you remove them after confirmation, clear app storage or uninstall. Device backups may be controlled by your operating system. Exported copies remain wherever you saved or shared them; deleting an in-app record does not delete those copies. Third-party advertising data is retained and deleted under Google's policies and available privacy controls.
