Cook records stay local

PitScribe is designed to store smoker profiles, cooks, meat entries, timers, user-entered temperatures and targets, events, notes, ratings, reminders and history on your device. You do not need a PitScribe account, and the publisher does not operate a cloud service for your cook records.

Exports and sharing

When you choose to export CSV, JSON or readable text, PitScribe creates the file locally and opens your device's share options. The file leaves PitScribe only when you choose a destination. That destination's privacy and retention practices then apply.

Reminders

If you enable a reminder, PitScribe asks for notification permission and schedules the reminder on your device. You can deny or revoke permission without losing any other core feature.

Advertising and consent

PitScribe is free and supported by Google Mobile Ads. Depending on your device, region and consent choices, Google and its partners may process data such as IP-derived approximate location, device or other identifiers, app interactions, crash data and diagnostics for advertising, analytics, app functionality, security and fraud prevention. PitScribe requests consent before requesting an ad, requests non-personalised ads only and does not ask for tracking permission.

Google's handling of advertising data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can use the privacy-options control in the app when it is required and available.

What PitScribe does not require

The product does not require your name, email address, account password, contacts, precise location, health records, payment information, camera or microphone. The final app-store disclosure for each release reflects the signed app and its included advertising SDK.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete them in the app, clear the app's storage or uninstall PitScribe. Exported files remain wherever you chose to save or share them. Advertising-provider retention is controlled by Google, its partners and your device or account settings.

Children

PitScribe is a general-audience cook log and is not directed to children. The app is not intended to collect a child's personal information.
