PitScribe works without an account. Most records and settings are kept locally on the device where you created them.

Export before changing devices

Use PitScribe's export options to create CSV, JSON or readable text and save the file somewhere you control. Removing the app or clearing its storage can remove local records. An export is not a cloud sync service.

A timer or event looks wrong

Confirm that the correct cook and meat are selected, then review the event timestamp and any pause or resume action shown in the app. When reporting a problem, include the app version, device model, operating-system version and the steps immediately before the issue. Do not send private cook notes unless they are necessary for diagnosis.

A reminder did not appear

Check that notifications are allowed for PitScribe in device settings and that the reminder is still enabled in the app. Battery-saving or focus modes can delay or hide local notifications. Denying notification permission does not block the cook log.

Ads or privacy choices

Advertising requires a network connection and may be unavailable because of consent, configuration or provider availability. Core features should continue without an ad. Use the in-app privacy-options control when it is shown for your region.

Food safety

PitScribe records temperatures and targets entered by you. It does not connect to a thermometer, determine doneness or provide food-safety advice. Use a reliable thermometer and follow current guidance from an appropriate food-safety authority.
